What you'll need to test with Drive!
Under 18
- Must be 16 or 17 years old, with a permit held for a minimum of 9 months
- Valid NC permit required
- A parent or guardian with a valid NC license must be present
- Test begins and ends at Drive! Driving School
- Conducted in a Drive! Driving School vehicle
- $100 — cash, check (payable to BJM Drive!), or Venmo preferred
18 & Over
- Valid NC permit required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Test begins and ends at Drive! Driving School
- Conducted in a Drive! Driving School vehicle
- $100 — cash, check (payable to BJM Drive!), or Venmo preferred
After You Pass
DMV paperwork
Once you pass your road test with Drive!, you'll head to the DMV to finish the paperwork and get your license.
Under 18
- Proof of insurance
- Log of 60 hours of driving
- NC permit
- Parent or guardian
- Payment for the DMV
18 & Over
- Proof of insurance
- NC permit
- Payment for the DMV
**Payment covers Drive! Driving School administering the test; it does not guarantee a passing result if the student does not adequately demonstrate competence in all required driving skills and meet NCDMV testing standards.
